iTunes
Oh how we love iTunes, The beast that put podcasting on the map. There's no doubt , if it weren't for Apple iTunes, podcasting would not be where it is today. After integrating podcasting into iTunes in July 2005, it has been a great one-stop-shop for podcasts especially for iPod users. With that being said what exactly is iTunes? Ultimately iTunes is the computer software necessary for syncing up audio and video content from a computer desktop to an iPod.
iTunes, a free download, allows users to browse thousands of podcasts via its iTunes directory and subscribe to them all within the application. Itunes also allows one to subscribe to and consume a podcast with out having an iPod. You can play the media directly from iTunes. unfortunately if you own a non apple mp3 player such as a Creative Zen or a Microsoft Zune you can not sync it with iTunes. Many of these devices have their own means of subscribing to and syncing with podcasts. More information on these can be found on the "Other Methods" page.
