Welcome to PodcastFAQ, the place with answers to frequently asked podcasting questions.

Directory List

We recommend adding your podcast to the following directories.

iTunes

You will first need to install and run the iTunes application on your computer to proceed. Then click the following Publish a Podcast link to add your RSS feed to iTunes. The process will require you to create an iTunes account. You will need to provide either a credit card or a paypal account in order to create an iTunes account.

Listing your podcast on iTunes is important. iTunes makes up more than 1/2 of the podcasting audience. For detailed specs on using iTunes when creating a podcast please visit the iTunes: Making a Podcast Page

Once you are listed on iTunes, you will be issued a unique URL to the iTunes music store. You may use this unique URL on your web site in order to quickly get your audience to subscribe to your podcast in iTunes. Your unique URL should look something like the following:

Zune Marketplace

You will first need to download, install and run the Zune Marketplace application on your computer to proceed. Then load the Zune software and go to the Marketplace | Podcast link. Scroll down to where it says "suggest a podcast." Enter the URL of the feed for the podcast, and hit Submit.

Zune also offers a one-click subscription option. Click here to create your own Zune one-click subscription link. You may also create your own one-click subscription link for the Zune Marketplace by using the following link format. Keep in mind that spaces in your Podcast Title must be replaced with + characters

zune://subscribe/?PodcastTitle=FeedURL

For example, if your podcast title is "Geek News Central" and your Feed URL is "http://www.geeknewscentral.com/podcast.xml", your Zune one-click subscription link would be:

zune://subscribe/?Geek+News+Central=http://www.geeknewscentral.com/podcast.xml

Blubrry Community (a service of RawVoice)
